Emerson Network Power Energy Systems is part of Emerson Network Power
- a competence area within Emerson, the leading  technology solutions powerhouse.

Emerson Energy Systems formally started operations at the beginning of April 2000. Previously it was known as Ericsson Energy Systems - a division within Ericsson. The division Emerson Energy Systems is built on acquisitions of Nortel's, Ericsson's, Huawei's and Marconi power divisions.

Emerson Energy Systems are established as a major global supplier of telecom energy solutions with more than a century of telecom energy experience. Our offering is focused on solutions.

Covering power supply, climate control, cabinets and housing, network energy management and a full set of services it spans from standard or customized power converters to what we call Energy Partnership, where our energy experts run all energy systems in large telecom networks.

Ericsson 1876 Ericsson is founded and immediately starts its telecom power operations.
  1970 Energy Energy Systems is started as a separate business entity for energy-related solutions for telecommunications.
  1995 Marketing outside of Ericsson is started in the 1970s, and by the mid 1990s, a position is captured as the second largest telecom power manufacturer in the world.
Nortel 1895 Bell Canada forms the Northern Electric and Manufacturing Company.
  1956 Power Products Division is created by Northern Electric.
  1995 The name is changed to Advanced Power Systems and a position is established as the third largest DC telecom power systems manufacturer in the world.
Huawei 1988 Huawei Technologies is established in China and forms a private high-tech enterprise.
  1992 Avansys is created and forms Huawei’s power division.
Emerson 1998 Astec (49% owned by Emerson) acquires Nortel’s Advanced Power System business.
  1999 Astec becomes a wholly owned Emerson subsidiary.
  2000 Emerson acquires Energy Systems from Ericsson and forms Emerson Energy Systems.
  2001 Emerson Energy Systems, Astec Advanced Power Systems and Emerson Telecom Systems joins forces, creating the new EES, a world leader in DC power.
  2001 Emerson acquires Avansys, adding further to Emerson Network Power Energy Systems global leadership in its field.
  2004 Emerson acquires Marconi opp&s, adding further to Emerson Network Power Energy Systems global leadership in its field.
  2005 Emerson acquires Chloride Telecom Systems, adding further DC power to Emrson Network Power global leadership in its field.
  2006 Emerson acquires Knûrr, adding further to Emerson Network Power global leadership in its field.
  2006 Emerson acquires Artesyn, adding further to Emerson Network Power global leadership in its field.
